Volunteer Teaching English in Nepal
Program Overview
The Teaching English Volunteer Program in Nepal offers a deeply rewarding and life-changing experience. As a volunteer, you will help students improve their spoken and written English skills, boost their confidence, and open the door to better opportunities. Whether you’re teaching in a rural village or urban community, your contribution will be highly valued by both students and teachers alike.
Role of a Volunteer English Teacher
As a volunteer English teacher in Nepal, you’ll teach 2 to 4 classes per day, with each class lasting 45 minutes. Volunteers are placed in private or public schools, working 5 to 6 days per week, with Saturday as the weekly day off. Public holidays are also observed.
🏫 School Types:
Private Schools: Students have a decent grasp of written English but need support with speaking and listening.
Government Schools: Students are often at the beginner level, and your support will be foundational in their learning journey.
In urban placements, a local teacher will assist you during your first week to help overcome any language or cultural barriers. Once you’re comfortable and students are familiar with you, you’ll teach independently.

All schools provide a standard English curriculum that you can follow or adapt based on your teaching style and creativity.
Volunteers with additional talents are highly encouraged to share them! You can lead activities such as:
