Agriculture – Organic Farm Projects in Nepal

Volunteer in Organic Farming with Himalayan Foundation Nepal

Nepal is a country built on farming — with over 80% of families working in agriculture. Despite their hard work, many farmers live in poverty and rely on harmful chemical fertilizers and pesticides to increase crop yields. These chemicals degrade the soil, water, and ecosystem, affecting both nature and human health.

At Himalayan Foundation Nepal, we organize volunteers to work on organic agriculture farms that promote eco-friendly and sustainable farming methods. These farms are based in Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Gunsa — offering a hands-on experience in both urban and rural settings.

Why Organic Farming?

Organic farming is not just a method — it’s a movement toward preserving the environment while feeding communities. Unlike industrial agriculture, organic systems:

  • Protect the soil and biodiversity

  • Avoid harmful chemicals

  • Promote sustainability

  • Improve community health

By using traditional and scientific techniques, organic agriculture supports climate-friendly practices that are vital for Nepal’s future.
