HELPING IN CHILDREN’S HOME/OFFICE
David and his wife Maria have 15 children in their home. Help is needed in many areas including assisting with homework, help with conversational English, help using computers and developing arts and crafts. The older children would benefit from a mentor sharing life experiences and guiding them on future job opportunities.
When the children are at school there is an opportunity to get involved with community projects and visit areas of interest in Kathmandu.

Are you wondering what you can do as a volunteer in Nepal? At Himalayan Foundation Nepal, volunteers play a vital role in caring for children and supporting our community programs.
Depending on your interests, passion, and experience, you can make a meaningful impact by getting involved in the following areas:
Key Volunteer Roles

Academic Support:
Help children with their homework, study, and monitor their academic progress. (Approx. 3–4 hours/day) -
Conversational English:
Practice basic English phrases and vocabulary through fun, informal conversation sessions. -
Computer and IT Education:
Teach children basic computer skills and improve their digital literacy. -
Social Media & Blogging:
Help us manage our Facebook, update our blog, and share stories online. -
School Runs:
Assist in accompanying children to school in the morning and picking them up after classes. -
Creative Activities:
Organize arts and crafts, games, music, dance, and other fun, educational extracurricular activities. -
Educational Outings:
Take children on educational tours around Kathmandu and nearby landmarks. -
Cooking & Cultural Exchange:
Help with cooking meals, or introduce children to international recipes and food preparation. -
Free Time & Cultural Exploration:
Volunteers are free during school hours (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) for sightseeing, community visits, or helping in other local projects. -
Use Your Skills:
You’re encouraged to bring your unique expertise—whether in health, music, arts, education, or business—to support community development and child empowerment.
